Giving Back

In our world today there is definitely something to be said about the goodness that flows through a person’s heart. A benevolent act is basically doing something out of the goodness of your heart and not expecting anything in return. This can be anything that you feel like you should do. Whether it be giving money to a charity, putting in volunteer hours at a local shelter, or simply smiling at someone who may seem upset, these things will not only change the lives of the people you’ve helped, but it will inevitably change your life.

There are so many different places to help give back and they are all very important. In my volunteering career, I mainly focus on our military and their families as a result of my grandfather serving and having made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. The two main charities I work for are the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) and The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). I think that it is so important to give back. We all have a chance to change the world as long as we’re willing to give it a little effort.

Let’s make a difference even if it’s one person and one heart at a time.
